Introduction

A big and muscular hulk of a dog, Ambullneo Mastiff dogs carry themselves with such grace, showing agile motions and great strength with their very confident but this intimidating physicality only shows his strength and not his demeanor. As being one of many giant mastiff breeds, the Ambullneo Mastiff is highly intelligent and always eager to please its master. As a result, they are often abused and bred to be fighting dogs even though they are not naturally violent.

History

The Ambullneo Mastiff is one of the newest dog breeds since it was developed in the early 1980s in Southern California. This breed was created when Mark Reasinger began a calculated breeding program, mixing Mastiffs and Bulldogs to create a new breed of dogs that would be less affected by hips and elbow diseases or other physical abnormalities.

Personality

Their physical appearance may scare the faint of the heart, but Ambullneo Mastiffs are not loose cannons, they don’t even bark without a valid reason. These dogs are very protective and loyal and, if properly socialized and trained, they do great with children or other household pets. Ambullneo Mastiffs are very obedient and they enjoy pleasing their owner, therefore they can be thought many tricks.

Bred For

In the beginning, the Ambullneo Mastiff was bred as a guardian dog of persons and territory. However, nowadays they present excellent family companions.

Environment

These mastiff dogs are not suitable for apartments or small houses. Even though they are not very active, they do need a place to run from time to time. The Ambullneo Mastiff can either live in warm or cold climate conditions as long as they have a place where they can hide from the sun or the snow.

Grooming

Since there is little shedding with this breed, the short-haired, slightly rough coat is easy to groom. Comb and brush with a firm bristle brush once a week, and shampoo only when necessary. Check the feet regularly because they carry a lot of weight and also trim the nails regularly.

Training

The breed is instinctively a natural guardian and protector, therefore, proper obedience training and socialization by a professional is a must. The most important thing for them to realize is that their owner is the pack leader. However, Ambullneo Mastiffs are very intelligent and if trained as puppies, you will never experience one bad thing with them.

Health

In general, this breed has no major health issues, beside the hip dysplasia. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid any high-intensity activities until the dog is mature enough.

Exercise

The Ambullneo Mastiff dogs don’t require a great deal of exercise to satisfy their energy needs because they are low energy dogs. Therefore, taking them for daily walks will stabilize their mental and physical state. In addition, keep them constantly hydrated.
