The Bavarian Mountain Dog can trace its ancestry from the Bloodhound-like Hanoverian Schweisshunds and Bavarian Scent hounds and be developed in the late 19th century. It is the most popular and most common scent hound kept in the Bavarian mountain region today.

The Bavarian Mountain Dog is high trainable dogs that are very easy going and affectionate. They just love their families but are very wary of strangers. These Bavarian dogs are generally calm and will not show shyness.
