History
The Bonsai Bulldogge is a very new companion dog breed that is young they are still considered by major kennel club’s to be give it a status of “still in development”. The Bonsai Bulldogge is a small dog breed recently created in Canada by Laura Kelsch, a dog breeder that founded the Hammerhead & Tie Lang Tou Kennels. She specifically developed this breed because of a high demand for a smaller sized bulldog-type that will not lose the traditional Bulldog’s appearance and personality. Also known as the Bonsai Bull, this breed is basically the “mini-me” versions of the large Olde English Bulldogge breed.

Personality
The Bonsai Bull is a miniature dog breed that is so tenacious it is not aware that they are small! These dogs share the same traits of their larger versions which is the Olde English Bulldogge breed. They are little dogs with impressive courage and admirable loyalty. But unlike the larger bulldog varieties, the Bonsai Bulldog will be great apartment pets! Overall, this is a young breed that has a very stable temperament and will be great with kids of all ages and other pet animals.

Bred For
The Bonsai Bull was bred to be the smaller version of large English Bulldog-type of dogs without losing the traditional bulldog look and personality.

Environment
Bonsai Bulldogges will be suitable to keep as pets in both the city and rural areas. They are small dogs that should be kept as indoor pets.

Grooming
This miniature bulldog breed is very easy to groom and only requires occasional brushing with their short coats.

Training
The Bonsai Bulldogge will be eager to please during training but they are known to be somewhat less-responsive compared to their larger bulldog cousins. Firm and consistent training methods should be used.

Health
Due to their very young age as a breed, Bonsai Bulldogge’s medical history is still inconclusive and needs more study and data. Presently, they are recognized to be a fairly healthy dog breed.

Exercise
The Bonsai Bull may be small, but they think, live and act as big bulldogs. This makes them very energetic and requires a fair amount of exercise sessions to satisfy their activity needs. These small dogs should be taken on long walks every day and be given ample play time in wide open spaces.
