History

Pudelpointer dogs are gun dogs that originated during the 19th century in Germany. The pioneer breeders of this German pointing dogs wanted to produce a multi-purpose and the quintessential hunting dog breed. To achieve this goal, they created the Pudelpointer by crossing various pointing dog breeds with the Standard Poodle variety.

Personality

Intelligence and a well-balanced disposition are the trademark traits of the Pudelpointer dog breed. These dogs will display an eagerness to please their masters, making the Pudelpointers very easy to train. They are dogs that will get along with children and other dogs as well.

Bred For

Pudelpointer dogs were bred to be multi-purpose hunting dogs in Germany.

Environment

This dog breed will not be suitable for city living. These are dogs that will require lots of space to thrive.

Grooming

The harsh and wiry coat of the Pudelpointer requires special attention and regular grooming.

Training

This particular German pointing dog breed is known to be very easy to train.

Health

This dog breed is relatively healthy. There are only two minor medical problems that may occur and these are common hip dysplasia and various skin related allergies.

Exercise
