History

The Russian Toy Terrier is a small terrier-type dog breed that originates in Russia in the early part of the 20th century. There are two types of Russian Toy Terriers, the longhaired and smooth-haired variety. The Russian Longhaired Toy Terrier or also called the Moscow Longhaired Toy Terrier is the younger variety and was developed by Ms. Yevgueniya Fomonichna Zharova. These dogs were created to be pure companion dogs.

Personality
The Russian Toy Terrier is a dog breed developed for the family. They are small terriers that will be loving and trustworthy to you and all members of your family. They are intelligent terriers that are agile, devoted and considered as a very hardy dog. Although small, the Russian Toy Terriers have this elegant stance and will be very active and lively. They are not aggressive and will never be shy either. These dogs are naturally intelligent and will be very easy to train.

Russian Toys Terriers will be great apartment dogs.

The Russian Smooth-haired Toy Terrier will require occasional brushing and minimal grooming attention. The Russian Longhaired Toy Terrier should be brushed every day. The two Russian Toy Terriers are dogs that shed hair in average amounts.

The Russian Toy Terrier is a small dog breed that is considered to be healthy.

Exercise

Russian Toy Terriers may be called toy dogs but they should not be carried around like a doll. These are naturally active small dogs that require sufficient exercise to satisfy their high activity level. These dogs should be taken out of walks every day.
