The Slovak Cuvac is an old breed that has been used as a flock guardian and shepherd’s companion for centuries. It came close to extinction after World War II but was revitalized by fanciers. This revival breeding program was led by a veterinary school in Czech Republic.

Personality

Slovak Cuvac dogs are loyal and very brave. These dogs are famous for being highly protective of their home and family.

Bred For

Slovak Cuvac dogs were bred to be flock guardians and also as shepherd’s companions.

Environment

These dogs are not suited for city living and also not good of apartment pets.

Grooming

Slovak Cuvacs are dogs that require vigorous and special grooming attention. They are dogs that shed hair seasonally and in heavy amounts.

Training
