The Weatherford’s Ben Black Mouth Cur is the Blackmouth Cur breed that originated in the State of Texas, USA. This cur-type dog was bred to specifically to be tough and fierce wild hog hunters and treeing dogs. They were also created to be used as trapping prey. Like all other cur breeds, these dogs are also proficient in treeing squirrels and raccoons as they are efficient in hunting big cats in mountainous terrain.

Personality

The Weatherford’s Ben Black Mouth Cur may be considered among the tougher cur-type breeds as they make their living primarily in hunting feral hogs and cattle or wild boars. They are efficient hunters and killers, always eager to unleash their tenacious nature. These are bold, fearless dogs that will never retreat. They are excellent hunters, hardworking herding dogs and very protective watchdogs. This cur breed will be loyal towards their family and eager to please when around their

Weatherford’s Ben Black Mouth Curs were created to be the American South’s all-purpose dog that can hunt, herd and protect. They are treeing dogs excelling in small game prey. They are hunting dogs famous for being silent trailers and trackers that can go head-to-head with medium to large game such as mountain lions and bears. They are also bred to hunt and herd livestock, feral cattle and wild boars.

Environment
