About Sonja

Distance: 1,025 Miles
Hello!  My name is Sonja and I’m a beautiful 4-year-old Havanese.  I am an extremely sweet and gentle girl. I absolutely love my soft bed and choose to spend much of the day in it where I feel warm and safe.   I like my kennel and will often stay in it for long periods with the door open. I am calm as long as I can see where my foster Mom is and I love to follow her around the house. I have been spending my days just watching her work from home. I get very anxious, destructive, and continuously try to get out of the kennel if she leaves the house. I would do best in a home where I would not have to spend long periods of time alone. I am an excellent sleeper at night, if I am not alone. I seldom bark, but I have a beautiful soft howl to get your attention!  I require a lot of patience since I am still adjusting and learning to trust. I need a calm and quiet home to help me with my new surroundings, and someone who understands that I need to take things slow. I am startled easily by noises and movements, even a light switch can make me jump. I would do best in a home without small children. I am not used to being pet, but I do like to be held and cuddled. I generally have a low energy level but can get scared and run and be hard to catch, so I need a fenced yard. I am not yet potty trained and I’m just starting to get used to walking around a little bit outside on a leash. I love to roll in the brown grass! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $575.00
