More about the shelter
Saving One Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer run, animal rescue that focuses almost completely on the animals that would have been otherwise euthanized at the pound or humane society. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save. We specialize in purebred cats, feral kittens, and severe medical cases when we have funding to do so. We very rarely take owner surrender animals.
We are a no kill group and we only euthanize animals for medical issues that cannot be fixed with veterinary care (fatal illnesses, extreme prolonged suffering). We provide hospice care for animals in our care with terminal illnesses.
All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they are able to go up for adoption. We may occasionally have animals in foster homes as long as four years (the running record so far) until they are adopted â once an animal is in our rescue, we will do everything feasible to care for that animal. Our foster animals live as a âpart of the familyâ until they are able to be put up for adoption. If we can, we will test them with cats, dogs, and children depending on who lives in the home. Not all cats get tested with kids or dogs if they are not available.
As a result of this, we really care where and how our animals are placed. We want the best possible situation for our animals AND the adoptive family. We reserve the right to deny any adoption.
All adopters must complete an application with possible brief interview if there are additional questions concerning the application. All adopters also sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee depending on the age, breed, and status of the cat (special needs etc).

I'm the loveliest fluff you ever have seen. I will follow you everywhere to see what you are doing. If you are working, cooking or cleaning, I will always be next to you. I will cuddle with you on the bed, if you allow me. I’m the best sidekick you will ever know.
I’m open to having more siblings but a slow introduction is best. I might hiss at first, but I won’t hurt anyone. I’m not scared of strange people visiting the house. I will come running to greet all guests.
Side note: I have a congenital illness that is out of my control. I cannot eliminate feces (poop) by myself. I need to use Miralax daily to help me empty my bowels. When I can empty my tummy, I’m a big happy girl running around. Please be aware that I cannot control my bowels and may have accidents.
Please understand I will need your help to keep me clean and happy. Cleaning my own backend has proven problematic in the past and caused me lots of pain (ask my foster-mama for the story) and trust me, I don't want to go through that again.
Even though my foster-mama loves me very much, is very patient with me and cleans me all the time she would love to help me find a place to call HOME. I want my own home where all (or most) of the attention would be for me.
Words to Describe Me: Loving. Active. Curious. Goofy
Favorite Place to Sleep: Same bed as you. But most of the time I will be in the kennel.
Favorite Toy: Pet collar with specific bell sound.
Perfect Day: She loves roaming around the house checking everything out.
Kitty's Likes: Chin scratches, head petting, play time.
Kitty's Dislikes: Getting her booty cleaned.
Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Yummy treats.
Favorite Treat: Tiki, Squeeze up, Churu.
Job Title in Foster: Bathroom Attendant
When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: Dandelion (my body looks like that when I'm on my back)
Good with Cats: Likes cats given a proper introduction.
Good with Dogs: Unknown, but optimistic (Animal has not met a dog).
Good with Children: Loves all children.
Companion Animal: Not required.
Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.
Adoption Process: Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Applications can be submitted on our website at www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply.
