About
We give dogs the most important ride of their life. Founded in 2012, our volunteer-based charity has transported close to 2,500 dogs across North America and internationally that are at the threat of being euthanized. Working in partnership with shelters, we identify and transport dogs on buses, cars and planes to pre-qualified homes in Alberta and the Eastern Region of B.C. When our dogs have adjusted from their journey and settled into their foster homes, they are either adopted by the foster or become available for adoption.
We are addressing an international crisis about shelter over-populations, owner dog surrenders and discriminatory breed specific legislation. We believe that every dog deserves a new leash on life.
We consistently seek fosters, funds, partners and volunteers.

Our Vision
Our vision is of a world where all pets are well cared for in loving homes for life & away from the threat of Breed Specific Legislation - because of how they look.
We aim to achieve this vision by:
Promoting good animal welfare and responsible pet ownership by providing support, guidance and education to members of the public.
Working with many organizations to help animals, whoever and wherever the need is.
Providing the best possible care for all animals.
Setting standards of animal welfare in Canada, the USA and beyond.
Our Values
We strive to end the suffering of companion animals everywhere.
We aim to find the right home for every animal in our care and will not quit until every animal is placed.
We endeavour to support anyone who needs help in caring for their pets. Life happens and we understand.
We believe the emotional and physical well-being of every animal we look after is paramount and is our first consideration.
We value our volunteers, supporters, and our partners. We know without you, there would be no "us".
We pride ourselves on being open, honest, and dedicated in every aspect of our work.

About Chris
Distance: 1,307 Miles
This is Chris, though we call him Bruno around here (anyone with little kids will probably understand why!). Bruno is approximately 3 months and is just like having another toddler in the house. When Bruno came to us, he was scared of everything, loud noises, all people, the only one he wanted anything to do with was our old pup Diesel. He played with Diesel right from the beginning. He has since learned that people are good, and often come with food (as he was fearful of almost everything positive reinforcement was important to him). He has learned some basic manners like how to sit, and that he must sit before eating. He has also gotten more used to going in his kennel for periods during the day and all night. He is currently learning that outdoors is for going to the bathroom, but he will have the odd accident, especially if there is a rug or towel on the floor. All and all he is a typical puppy, full of pea and vinegar and wanting a loving family to call his own. He is great with other dogs, though he may need to learn boundaries if your dog doesn’t love puppies. He has also been good with our two little kids (4 and 2), though sometimes they can be loud and scare him. We have not introduced him to a cat, though he saw one at the vet, and it scared him, so he’d probably do just fine! He weighs approximately 25 lbs now, so he will grow to be quite big, so would benefit from an active family or large yard. He has had his first round of vaccines, though he is not fully vaccinated for Parvo so he will need to be kept away from dog parks and yards previously exposed.
