More about the shelter
SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general.
SRGDRR helps people to:
Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.
Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.
Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.
Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.
Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.
Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.
Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.
SRGDRR helps Danes:
By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners.
We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health.
We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes.
We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.
SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.
Adoption application, Adoption contract, Home visit, Vet Ref Check and 3 personal ref checks
About Hatch
Distance: 1,309 Miles
LOCATION: Heath, TexasDOB: 11/26/2014 (Estimate)Today we bring you not one, but two senior fellas that have been within the rescue group for a LONG time and have been so very patiently waiting for their forever home for a LONG time. Both boys have some life experience and some gray hairs. (Hatch has the MOST amazing eyebrows!) These boys were sprung from the shelter together. Somewhere along the lines, they must’ve been with someone who cared for them and started to work with them on training. These mature gentlemen like people and would do well in a home where the children or grandchildren are over 5 years old. They do fine around most dogs, but have no known cat exposure. When meeting any new four legged friend, they appreciate slow and controlled introductions. Both boys have a lot of energy, even for older blokes. They love playing and running in the yard and are just as comfortable outdoors as they are indoors. Lounging in the sun is a fantastic way for them to spend the afternoon. When they are inside, they are not destructive and have not needed the kennel. They know the grass outside is where they do their business. Eating is another favorite thing to do. Breakfast, dinner, and anything in between! Especially if it is coated in peanut butter or PB flavored. Yum!Who's ready to help these boys FINALLY get into the forever home? ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org.
