More about the shelter
Forever Fortunate Felines is a division of Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue with a direct focus on saving and adopting cats!
Adopt a pet.....find a friend......save a life!
Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue is committed to saving dogs and cats that are neglected, abandoned, and overlooked in shelters and animal control facilities and providing them with a second chance to be adopted into loving families. Our staff is composed entirely of volunteers. We are recognized by the IRS as a qualified non-profit organization. Your donations in support of our work are tax deductible!
Thank you for your interest in Forever Fortunate Felines, a division of Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue. We are very happy to have the opportunity to match you with your purr-fect cat-panion!
Once you complete the online application using the below link, you will be able to discuss and ask questions directly to the foster parent.  We believe this is a big advantage to you as our organization is completely foster based, we really understand our cats personalities at a deep level. This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family.
In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here:Â
https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/11683/generic
Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue. Â Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten.
Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day. Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet. We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier. If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day. If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $3 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home. We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies.
Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age. We are able to accept cash, check, paypal, or most major credit cards for the adoption fee.

We have streamlined our adoption process to make it easy!  Everything from the application, to payment, to the contract is online.  Additionally, all of the cats records will be placed in your free Petlovers account at petstablished.com to keep organized.
About Bugs
Distance: 1,392 Miles
SPECIAL NEEDS: please read the entire bio before applying :)Meet Bugs! This spunky, chatty, extra floofy, and friendly little guy was rescued from the euthanasia list in Indiana and couldn't be happier to be in foster care and now on the lookout for his forever family! Bugs is the epitome of friendly, always ready to get pets, sit in your lap, and show you that he wants another snack! He is great at independently playing with toys like ball towers or crinkle balls, but he also enjoys a wand toy or other interactive playtime with humans. He is easily won over by treats and truly adores meeting new people and seeing new places. He has been such a confident and friendly guy to all the new people he has met! He will also call for you to try and find you if you aren't in his line of sight and he misses you.Bugs is also super special as he is a manx cat and has no tail! His unique look also comes with some unique traits including a very bunny-esque hop/walk that gives him an irregular stride. Don't let him fool you though, he can seriously sprint! Because his spine is irregular (from not having a tail), he also has unique neurological status. Manx cats, Bugs included, can sometimes experience urinary leakage. To minimize that, we have him on an affordable and easy to administer food that helps him fully empty his bladder in the litter box. Bugs is friendly and playful with the foster kittens he has met in care and would be most successful in a home with another kitty pal. He has not spent time with dogs in foster care, but would likely do just fine with a cat-friendly dog given appropriate introductions. Bugs has not met kids in foster care, but cat savvy kiddos would do just fine with his friendly and happy go lucky personality. While he may have some special needs, Bugs has not let them hold him back at all and he goes into every day as the happiest cat on earth! We cannot wait to see who is lucky enough to adopt this amazing boy!Fostered in ChicagoWE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL LOCATION AS WE ARE A FOSTER-BASED ORGANIZATION.
