Who We Are:
A group of volunteers in Jackson County, MS dedicated to the mission of saving animalâs lives at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. We are a 501c3 Non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Mississippi.
Mission Statement:
⢠To assist Jackson County Animal Shelter with funds, food, supplies, shelter improvements, fostering and volunteerism.
⢠To assist Jackson County Animal Shelter in securing good, reliable adoptive families for animals through social networking, transport to other states and local adoption events.
⢠To educate the public on the importance of spay and neuter laws, animal protection laws and pet owner responsibility.
How You Can Help:
We always need responsible foster families; we cannot pull animals from the local shelter unless we have safe, reliable foster homes for them to go to for training, medications, spay and neuter hold and quarantine for transports. We work in conjunction with local and out of state Rescue organizations to save as many animals as possible through this fostering, adoption and transport program.
Financially, we need funds for supplies, vet care and medicines, shelter pull fees and subsidizing transports to other states. Future projects include possible upgrades to the shelter to help reduce the spread of disease, increase animal capacity and thereby reduce euthanasia rates. We are also working on how to implement and fund low cost spay and neuter programs, micro-chipping, an adoption sponsorship fund and other life saving ideas.

About Millie
Distance: 1,406 Miles
Millie was picked up as a stray and had been at a local overcrowded shelter for three months. She is a 55 pound German shorthaired pointer mix which makes her have a unique appearance and lively personality. Millie is a larger dog with a sleek, muscular build typical of Pointers. She has a short, shiny coat that is mostly white with black patches. Her expressive brown eyes and floppy ears give her an endearing and approachable look. Millie is known for her playful and energetic nature. She loves to run and play. One of Millie’s most notable traits is her impressive fence-climbing ability. This talent first became apparent when she came to her foster home. Curious about the world beyond her yard, Millie will climb over the fence to explore the neighborhood. Her escapades led to many amusing incidents, such as surprising the neighbors by appearing in their yards. Millie will require a 6 foot fence to manage her adventurous spirit. Millie's daily routine includes morning runs, playtime at the dog park, and engaging activities like puzzle toys and obedience training. Despite her adventurous nature, Millie is well-behaved at home. She enjoys lounging in her favorite spot by the window, watching the world go by, and greeting visitors with enthusiastic tail wags. Millie is low heartworm positive and is on slow kill monthly prevention.
