More about the shelter
We are a no kill rescue group in southern california. Our primary focus is rescuing animals off of death row and local high kill shelters before they are to be euthanized. We then either board them or place them in foster homes so we can better access their personalities before placing them in loving homes. All our animals are seen by our vets, spayed/neutered, given approriate vaccines, some are microchipped, FELV/FIV tested if they are cats, heartworm tested for dogs and given flea treatment prior to adoption.
All interested parties are required to fill out a pre-adoption questionarre. This helps us in placing the right animal in the right home. Our goal is to place our rescued animals in the right new forever home. Most of these animals have been thru so much and we want to make their transition into their new homes go as smoothly as possible. Please visit our website www.greatpets.org for more information on our calander of adoption events for our dogs and where you can come to visit our wonderful kitties.

About Scotty
Distance: 1,412 Miles
Meet Scotty! Scotty is 5-years old and weighs about 24 pounds. He is smart, athletic, playful, and up for anything you do. Scotty absolutely loves walking! He is great on a leash, loves long walks, and definitely would do well with someone that has an active lifestyle to help with his energetic nature. Scotty doesn't mind the company of other dogs, but he would prefer to be your one-and-only - that is where he'll really thrive.
He needs to be placed in an adult-only home (no kids) with either an individual or a couple. We also request Scotty go to a home with an experienced dog owner. While Scotty is adorable and smart, he is a quirky dog at heart and needs someone who is in tune to his personality and moods - someone who can listen to and respond well to his verbal and non-verbal communication, cues, and dog language. He also takes a little bit to warm up to strangers, so when introducing him you need to do it at his pace and understand that he will just take a little time.
If you are interested in meeting Scotty and can provide the kind of home he needs, please first complete the adoption application at www.greatpets.org. Once your application has been received and reviewed you will be contacted to discuss if Scotty is a good fit for you. Scotty's $300 adoption donation includes his vet exam, vaccinations, neuter surgery, training program, flea treatment and microchip.
