More about the shelter
We are a group of volunteers who have been in the rescue field since 2005 and volunteered as staff volunteers with other non-profit animal rescue groups. Now, we have our own group.
We love and care about the present and future of the lives of the many homeless dogs and cats and strive to improve their lives for them to know stability, love and safety.
We focus most of our resources to help our sister animal rescue group in the City of Tijuana, Mexico as we are achiving to work with the Mexican Goverment to implement educational programs of pet care and sterilization in schools and large working fabrics to be able to have a large mexican population know there is help out there and the importance of sterilizing and treating animals humanely. We also help other rescue groups from San Diego and LA as well as rescue animals that are being relinquished by owners or other unfortunate events.
adoption application, meet potential adopters family (all household and pets), home check, adoption contract, adoption fee (fees vary)
About Pollita
Distance: 1,436 Miles
Meet Pollita! This little cutie was rescued from the streets of baja, Ensenada Mexico. Poor little pup was so weak, sick and mangie when she was rescued. Now, she is strong, healthy and a beautiful young pup. Pollita is your typical terrier, very loving, social and playful. She adores her foster mom but it did take her a day when she first arrived to settle in and trust her. She is still a bit apprehensive when meeting strangers and can try to retract and move away when strangers approach to touch her. She needs someone who is gentle and understands dogs to take it easy and win her trust. After all she did have a rough start in life and survived by evading humans who wanted to hurt her. Pollita (nick name for little chicken) reminds us of 'Tigger' of winnie the pooh jumping on his pogo stick. When she is happy and excited for attention ei human entered the room or its time to be fed she will jump pretty high around you which is hillarious. Pollita is very dog friendly with all dogs, big and small. She is great with indoor cats, she will try to chase outdoor cats for the 'fun of it' she is after all under 10 pounds and can run FAST. As of late January she is fostered in Casa De ARWOB along with several foster dogs and cats. She is crate trained and doing great. She is pretty quiet for a small breed dog but she can bark when she is excited especially when a human enters the room after not seeing them for a while. She adores being a lap dog and being loved on. Being a young teen and a energetic terrier we would love for her to be adopted by someone interested in enrolling in dog training to make sure she is a well mannered adult when she grows up and she would love a home with other pets in the home, if adopted as the only pet in the home she would be happy if she is kept socialized around fellow dog friends as she needs that frienship to be happy. Pollita is READY for adoption and will be making a debut at the MEGA adoption event comming up on 2/15 we hope you can make it and meet her! IF you would like to meet her before the event please submit applications online for review to schedule a meet and greet prior to the event at ARWOB.org
