More about the shelter
WAMAL was formed in 1998 by Cindy Neely to help with Malamute Rescue in the greater Northwest area to cover rescue needs outside of the scope of Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue. Since that time we have rescued on average about 100 Malamutes a year and have rescued many hundreds to date. While none of this would have originally happened without a small few, it's the numerous (but sometimes still too few) volunteers that make rescue happen.
Applications are accepted online, then a home visit is scheduled unless the potential adopter does not qualify. After the home visit evaluation form is filled in online, we generally approve and the Adoption Team begins trying to match the humans with a "best fit" mal. We send dog bios to the adopter, who agrees to meet or passes on a particular dog. The adoption fee is $300 ($200 for seniors) which we collect at the time of adoption and hold for two weeks (sometimes longer) until the adoption is finalized.
About DAKOTA
Distance: 1,541 Miles
DAKOTA is a sweet girl who loves playing with toys and her sister, NICOLE. When you first meet DAKOTA she may be a little cautious but will warm up quickly because she also loves pets and attention. She would enjoy a nice yard to feel safe in, but is perfectly happy being indoors or going on car rides with you. She knows some commands like "sit", "lay" and "shake".
DAKOTA and NICOLE are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together. They both will excel in a furever home that will spoil them making them feel like princesses.
She is currently living at our Malley Valley resort, socializing with other dogs and our volunteers.
