NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME:
We don't know much of Dougie's past, as he was most likely abandoned with a companion who unfortunately did not make it.
He was quite skittish when we first got him, having been abandoned and left to fend for himself for days. However, now he's quite comfortable and confident in the home. Very affectionate and playful. Very curious. Always in everyone's business. He may be small but he has energy so he would be great in a home who is active. He's quite athletic and no baby gate will hold him back. He will either need to be on a leash or 6' fenced yard, as he can most likely scale a 4' chain link. He's up for a hike as well as a snuggle. He's very curious and social and doesn't understand that all dogs are not automatically friends with him. He's a wonderful and affectionate little boy who would make a wonderful family member!
All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup!
ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO:
Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA.
Motley Zoo is a FOSTER BASED organization, which means our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes (or partnering pet stores) where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. We do not have animals available for casual viewing and same day adoption. Due to the volunteer run structure and decentralized/ virtual nature of a foster based group, an approved application is required to make an adoption appointment for any of our animals.
If you are interested in one of our Adoptable Roadies, please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application (the auto-responder also has a link to our application). We will work toward getting you approved as an adopter so that we can set a time for you to meet your new best friend!
Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment Dog Daycare" in Redmond, WA where proceeds from this service, help support our rescue's vet budget- however, this is NOT a shelter. For more information about daycare or training, check out www.rockstartreatment.org.
Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for more information!
Thanks for considering adoption- we look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend.
Rock on-
The Motley Zoo Crew
