Jake is a medium sized dog with a big personality who is looking for the perfect home for himself.  He is already house broken. He doesn't like the crate but will go in and settle down after a few minutes.  He is fine to be left alone in the house and doesn't chew anything or get into things.  Jake has some separation anxiety so would prefer a home where someone is there most of the time, or another dog his size to keep him company. Jake currently lives with 3 small female dogs (10-15lb). Slow introductions are needed with strangers, but especially men.  He is possessive of his chew bones, but we are working on that. Jake completed a 2 month training program and his adopter will need to continue working with him. Jake would do best in a quiet home with just one female or couple and no young children.  Jake already knows "sit" and "down" and is treat motivated so will learn quickly what you ask him to do. He loves to sleep in the human bed and will lay on the floor at your feet by the couch or on the couch,  and hang out while you're in the kitchen or other room. He may have an old injury to his hind end so care should be taken there.  Jake loves to go on walks and can do 2 miles easily. He is great motivation to get you out to walk! Careful introductions to passer-bys neeeded.  Jake loves to hang out in the backyard with his person, just chilling and sunning himself. A fenced yard would be best.  Jake has all his shots and has been checked over by our vet. He is good to go!
