About Benji

Distance: 1,958 Miles
Benji is a 14 year old neutered male mixed breed. He is believed to have been a feral dog until February 2013 when he was picked up by Montgomery County. Benji was in foster care with Operation Pets Alive until 2015 when he was adoped. Benji was fearful of other dogs and men when he came out of the shetter.  He has adjusted better than expected with training but he is still  hesitant with men especially.  Benji lived with his adopter and her other 2 dogs and lots of cats for 9 years but his adopted mom passed away recently and he has come back into Operation Pets Alive's care.  He has a best friend named Pup Pup who is 2 years old.  They have been sleeping together in the same crate at night.  He recently was groomed and is sporting a new "lion cut"!   Benji is crate trained and house broken. He jumps readily into a vehicle. As an older dog that has gone through alot, he prefers to be left alone to carry on his doggy activities which includes palling with Pup Pup!   Benji walks well on lead and knows some commands such as sit. He is keen to have some treats and is in good health for a dog his age.  If you are looking for a wonderful, low-key companion that needs you as much as you need him, Benji could be the dog for you. He is a wonderful loving dog that is still learning to trust humans.  Please email Operation Pets Alive if you would like to meet Benji or find out more about him.
