More about the shelter
The mission of The Little Guild is to save unwanted, abused and neglected cats and dogs, provide medical care and enrichment to make them more adoptable and, through our pet adoption center, match them with homes where they can thrive.
Fill out an adoption application, we will review it and call references, have the potential adopter meet with one of our animal care experts and the animal. If it is a good match for both the animal and the family then an adoption contract is filled out.
Adoption prices vary depending on animal.
About Trooper
Distance: 2,605 Miles
Trooper is a very special boy who definitely lives up to his name. He was found suffering from numerous wounds from what is believed to be an attack from a wild animal. Trooper was treated at a local veterinarian’s office and lived there for approximately eight months while he recovered. While his body has healed, he still suffers from extreme levels of fear and anxiety. He has been making slow, steady progress during his stay with us and is moving towards being a more confident version of himself. Trooper is very fearful of men and environmental stimuli. He remains a high flight risk, and will require a fenced-in yard. He is best suited for a low stress environment with minimal distractions. He will need incremental exposure to new people and situations in order to overcome his fear. Once he warms up to you he is a big goof and loves to lay on the couch with you and receive pets. When you stop petting him he taps your arm until you start to pet him again. This boy has been through a lot but still just wants to be loved. If you have any questions about Trooper or think you can provide Trooper with the environment he needs, give us a call!
