Where are the hound lovers?? Ida is a loveable 5 year old hound. Sweet Loving Gentle Dog Friendly Family Friendly
Sweet Ida was stuck in a shelter for two years. She helped lots of sweet puppies who came and went, and she was overlooked due to her calm, quiet nature. A few weeks ago Ida got her freedom ride to PA and she started learning how to be an indoor dog. When Ida arrived she wouldn't leave the dining room for four days. She was terrified of all these new indoor noises and there were even scarier noises outside - planes, cars, birds!
Ida is doing amazing and it gaining confidence every day. She loves other dogs and she's good with kids (although it would take her a while to adjust to little kid noise). She's timid, but never aggressive and has the most gentle demeanor. If she's scared she will put herself in her crate until she's ready to face the world again! She is perhaps the sweetest, most gentle dog we have ever fostered. She has so much love to give - and a nice side of goofy too.
She's good in a crate, but still working on housetraining. She's going outside most of the time, but needs some supervision until she gets the hang of her new home and routine (just like a puppy). Sleeps quietly through the night as long as she has dog or human company. She likes to play but isn't wildly energetic and is very independent.
Ida is looking for a home with a secure, fenced yard where she can run free. Her home must also have another dog - to help her gain confidence and teach her how to indoor 'dog'.
Ida is spayed, up-to-date with vaccines and ready to be adopted from 03/24/2024. Kennel licence: 16182
