The man who kept me there would often leave me alone. One day, a neighbouring lady heard my whimpers as she was passing by and found me in my sad state. Neglected and malnourished, it was hard for me to even stand up to greet her.As a dog owner herself, she felt compelled to help me, and began bringing me food. With her kindness, she quickly earned my trust. I guess I earned a spot in her heart too, because she found the owner of the building and advocated for my release from the “doggy jail” I was being kept in.  She brought me to the dog shelter I've been living in for about 9 months (since Oct 2023). Now thriving with care, I know there's more out there for me. My rescuer named me Princess because while I make friends easily (canine and human alike), I prefer to eat my meals alone, please and thank you. This display of resource guarding likely comes from receiving infrequent meals. I had to protect what little sustenance came my way.  When I adapt to routine care and love, it's expected I'll relax and understand I won't need to worry if/when I'll be fed again.I'm an intelligent girl who is eager to learn and understand what's expected of me.  This should make training much easier. The best kind of home for me would be one that offers some adventure time. Cuddles and relaxed time at home would also be fabulous!
